I love to travel. Its an outlet. Changing the scenery for a few days can give you a peace of mind which is well needed. I honestly dont thing I've objected a daycation anyway. My mom my niece and I took a short roadtrip up to Chicago during the holiday season. We stayed downtown at Hotel Blake a few streets away from The Magnificent Mile and a ton of shopping. I love this fancy smancy hotel with their giant self can and vintage texting service.
Food is Chicago is unlike any other, seriously! The Windy City is known for their pizza but this trip I ate the legendary Shake Shak! Nothing like a shak burger & cheesy bacon French fries! I figured I’d walk off the calories going back to the hotel, right? Of course I needed to stop in at Chicago staple Garrett’s Popcorn Shoppes. My candy crazy niece got her fix at Dylans Candy Store. She’s so fancy she visited both stores. She even ran into a princess at the Navy Pier.
ChiTown is one of my favorite places for sightseeing. The skylines are breathtaking. Cloud Gate is one of everyone’s favorite places to take pic along with the nostalgic Chicago theatre. To get the best views and give the youngster some culture, my mom, niece and I took a short subway ride just on the downtown loop.
